Trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), Jay tailors interventions to each client’s unique context, recognizing complex patterns within families, relationships, and cultural systems. His therapeutic approach integrates Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Virginia
Satir’s experiential methods, combining insight with practical change. He collaborates with clients to reframe stories, discover strengths, and overcome emotional barriers, always focusing on empowerment, systemic awareness, and genuine connection. Jay is especially passionate about supporting people exploring their identity, relationship changes, and nontraditional life choices. He believes healing begins when individuals feel truly seen and understood. Before entering the field of therapy, Jay spent 30 years as an improv performer and corporate facilitator, cultivating a deep understanding of human connection, relational dynamics, and the power of curiosity. This background shapes his therapeutic style—empathetic, dynamic, and attuned to the subtleties of communication. He views the therapist-client relationship as a collaborative journey, meeting clients with presence and regularly adjusting his approach based on their experience. Jay specializes in working with individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and relational challenges. His practice is grounded in cultural humility and a commitment to creating spaces where clients feel genuinely heard and witnessed. He is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), dedicated to ethical, evidence-based care. Outside the therapy room, Jay advocates for mental health and draws inspiration from creativity, resilience, and human connection—whether through improv, storytelling, or witnessing transformative growth. - Available for new clients -
