A warm Welcome!
Julie Sugarman is a Clinical Psychotherapist in training and a current graduate student at Northwestern University, where she is earning her Master's Degree in Counseling. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and brings a lifelong passion for psychology and human behavior to her clinical work. Through her deeply empathetic and compassionate approach, Julie creates a warm, positive, and non-judgmental space for clients to safely explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Committed to fostering growth and healing for her clients, she tailors her therapeutic techniques to each individual's needs, empowering clients on their journey toward self-understanding and emotional well-being through a personalized approach that is rooted in empathy, care, and kindness.
Before pursuing her clinical training, Julie spent nearly a decade in the communications and marketing world, leading strategic initiatives for high-profile clients across the public relations, education, and entertainment industries. Her background includes roles at globally recognized firms such as Weber Shandwick, 160over90 (Endeavor), and Team Lewis. In these positions, she specialized in narrative development, brand storytelling, and content creation for Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, and creative institutions. Julie’s professional journey outside of the therapy room informs her ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals, particularly professionals navigating high-pressure environments, life transitions, or identity shifts.
Julie is especially passionate about supporting clients through anxiety, grief, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. She has a strong interest in helping individuals who are exploring identity, purpose, or new chapters in their lives. Her approach draws on the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding—and that healing takes place in safe, compassionate relationships. In addition to her clinical work, Julie continues to explore her interests in film, art, culture, and design, which inspire her holistic view of mental wellness and personal growth.
Julie is trained in various therapy modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.
