Sex Therapy is not just about sex!
Sex therapy is a form of psychotherapy that addresses challenges with the mental health component of sexual function. Sex therapy can address issues with intimacy, sexual feelings, sexual trauma, and couples mismatch. Couples often have mismatch related to sex drive and interest in engaging in alternative sex play. Sex therapy can be used in individual therapy or couples therapy. Sex therapy is talk therapy with no physical contact ever with the therapist and no physical contact with couples in session together. Homework assignments are often assigned in which clients engage outside of session. Sex therapy techniques are often interwoven with other therapy styles.
