The Truth - We ALL need Family Therapy!
Family dynamics have never been more challenging with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Our clinical team works closely with individuals in family therapy using a variety of methods. Our clients report improved communication and decreased distress and disturbance from past wounds. Healing current and past painful experiences can provide a robust way to recover and develop as a stronger family unit. Family therapy is a powerful way to learn skills, repair relationships, and improve communication. Family therapy also gives excellent tools and diagnostic information to improve relationships! Our clinicians are very oriented towards skills and strategies combined with a non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
Our Family Therapists |
Session FormatFamily therapy can be any number or combination of family members (e.g., mother/daughter, sister/brother, mother/father/children, etc.). It typically involves highly structured sessions in which communication rules are laid out in the beginning and goals are discussed. The therapist may elect to speak to family members individually but generally follow a "no secrets" policy to avoid triangulation (using the therapist to communicate instead of each other) and prevent a conflict of interest from forming.
Rates and PaymentWe accept insurance for family therapy. Although many practices do not take insurance, we want to make sure that families are able to receive affordable services and do not want cost to be a barrier. If you are not using insurance or will be seeing an associate clinician, please see rates.
